The Project
The UK Police Memorial project brings together three distinct elements to celebrate lives lived as well as commemorating lives lost:
- A beautiful and iconic monument which stands among 300 memorials at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire, a site which commemorates those who have died while serving their country and welcomes 400,000 visitors each year. With its striking presence at the Arboretum, the UK Police Memorial serves as a lasting tribute to policing, providing a place for reflection and remembrance.
- Digital commemoration tributes which tell the personal stories of those who have given their lives to policing. Working in partnership with the Police Remembrance Trust and the Police History Society we are creating a series of tributes which preserve the legacy of our policing heroes.
- Our education program pays tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of the fallen while inspiring and educating future generations about policing in a civil society. Through engagement with schools, communities, and young people, the initiative aims to foster respect for law enforcement, encourage discussions on justice and public service, and preserve the legacy of those who have served and dedicated their lives to policing.
