Resources for Primary Schools
The National Memorial Arboretum Learning Team has developed a comprehensive educational programme designed to give young people a deeper understanding of policing, its history, and its vital role in community service, while also honouring those who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
This engaging content explores the evolution of policing and the importance of police officers and staff in keeping us safe and protecting us from harm. It also encourages students to reflect on the dedication and bravery of those who have lost their lives in the line of duty,
The programme is designed to be flexible, allowing teachers and students to engage with the material in different settings. It can be used during visits to the Arboretum, where students can experience the UK Police Memorial at firsthand, or remotely in the classroom, making it accessible to schools across the country.
